Default Family in Texas needs Trained Dog-Downs Syndrom

I was contacted by a family in Texas who has an 8 year old child with Down's Syndrom. They are looking for a TRAINED dog, adult size, that would allow the child to hug it a lot. (The child hugs pretty "soundly".)
The mother can't train a dog, she is pretty well committed (timewise) to the care of her son.
My program only places puppies to familes who can train them for service...so we are not able to help her at this time.
If any of you breeders are thinking about retiring a breeding dog or know of a great rehome, please let me know and I'll pass it along.
I did tell this family to contact IDOG to fill out an application.
Gene...has Comet found a home yet? Would he be okay with a fairly rough hug from a child? If so, we might want to let IDOG know...

Jac........maybe IDOG is a place to start? and/or they might know trainers in Texas that could help guide you?

Thanks, Ann Marie...I have mentioned that.

I have not heard back from the family, so I assume that they are working with someone. I hope so.
