I'm trying to find information on the cost of breeder dogs with Tegan Park and Rutland Manor bloodlines. How much were the dogs? How much for transport? Other costs? Does anyone know how much those breeders from AUS charge for "pet" dogs? I know the standard price from US breeders is $2500 from those pedigrees. Thanks, Mike
Feel free to PM me if you want. |

Hi Mike, If I had definate information I would send it via PM but I can only say that I contacted a Tegan Park breeder once, years ago, and he said that he would send a female with a confirmed mating (pregnant) to me for ... $30,000!!! Yikes! (Plus shipping, by the way.)
I asked a US breeder who had an Aus Multigen and, in 2004, the cost of a breeding female was $18,000 and a breeding male started at $9,000. I thought that this information might put you in the ballpark for the information you are looking for. |

HI Msec....many breeders on this forum have had their aussie multigens shipped as puppies, waited to do tests then breed
So while you should be able to get a few more replies, there might not be as many as you hope for. The airlines will tell you how much to ship if coming from austrailia......in US shipping can be $300-$500 depending on type of service the only other quotes that might help you is via internet searches and emailing different Aussie Breeders...as it'd be coming straight from the source

I know a breeder who bought a stud from Australia, he was 10,000, I think.
Don't know the shipping cost.... She also has another with aus. bloodlines that she paid 7000 for. I don't know the story behind either....but they are excellent dogs in every respect!

I contacted a breeder in RI of Australian Labradoodles "mini" in size and she told me that she would charge 10,000 for a breeding puppy. She told me that was her expense for her original breeders thats she had obtained 4 - 5yrs ago. So she didnt increase the price which was surprising.
The size of her litters are not large but they move and she charges 2500.. per pup. They are gorgious dogs, very fluffy & cute. Please PM me if you want the web link for this breeder. hope this helps. It seems rather a large amt. to consider and that is why we all do not do this. I love the American lines of Labradoodles. Because that is our experience.

If I could add to my own post...
Some people say everything is negotiable... Has anyone had luck negotiating down the from the "standard" ASD Australian Labradoodle price of $2500 ( seems like price fixing... lol ). I understand that there is a lot that goes into that price... |

OK, you're talking about 2500.00 for a pet Australian doodle, right? I have seen them for 2,000.
I think I have seen a few breeders offer their American breeding quality pups for anywhere between 3500-5,000. I don't know if that is totally accurate.....maybe some lower, maybe some higher?? Anyone else have a ball park?

If a price is negotiable will depend on the individual circumstances of the breeder. If you find a breeder who easily sells all puppies or who pre-sell puppies you will likely not find any discount, even with negotiations. If, on the other hand, you contact a breeder with older pups or a new breeder or if you have special circumstances these breeders may be more likely to negotiate.
For breeders, some of the American line breeders will discount the sale price in exchange for a pick of the litter puppy (plus a lower fee) or use of sperm from a male...all of this is generally conditioned on the satisfactory testing. One thing that you will find is that breeding dogs are warrantied only to the value of a pet puppy. If the breeding pup does not pass testing and you can't use it, the breeder will still keep the value of a pet puppy...for instance if you pay $10,000 for a breeding puppy (Aust. MG) and it fails tests, you will get a refund of $7500 because the pet value of an Aust. MG is $2500. As in any other market, you can find people with too much "stock" and will consider "sale" prices...I don't like looking at it like that, but it is a reality. Still, these breeders (hopefully) hold out for great homes...and that is the major consideration. |
