Hello - I am new to this site. I live in Putnam County - New York and I am looking for a dog. Can be older or younger. I was wondering how large the large dogs are(how many pounds). I'm not sure if we can purchase a pup - there would be 5 hours the pup would be alone.

Time wise I think you could do a little older of a pup. Most people leave thier pups for about 5 hours. However, there's al lthe training when getting a pup. www.poomixrescue.com has lots of doodles. Also make sure you click on the IDOG box. There are about 10 being fostered by IDOG right now. Some of us on the forum are fostering some of them.
Good luck in your search! |

Hi, welcome!
Your question is a tough one to answer as some Doodles (Denver on this forum) are well over 100 lbs! But the average "large" size is around 70 lbs. Standard Doodles are anywhere between 50-70 lbs, generally. Some breeders are breeding smaller and getting miniture Doodles, they can be as small as 20 lbs, but minis are in demand and it is doubtful that any would be in a rescue situation. Best wishes in your search! |
