Hi, as some of you know we are looking into buying a miniaure labradoodle, but we don't have a yard, only some terraces.
I was wondering if anyone has used paper training, wee pads or other indoor(non yard) housebreaking methods? I would really appreciate your help |

My co-worker only had a terrace and she got hubby to build a small
box and grew grass in it. They were worried about training to wee pads in that the puppy would learn it was ok to go in the house. Worked great for them............ |

I have not used them as a permanent method for potty training but I do use them for initial training for puppies to get the idea of where to potty. The main problem is that the pups soon learn that they are great to shred!
I like the idea of growing some grass inside. But I also think you should attempt to take the dog for walks to potty outside so that he/she will be used to potty time on various surfaces. If you only teach it to potty inside on one surface, you may have difficulty later on...if you move, vacation, or kennel your pet. |

Our friends lived in an apartment with a balcony when they got their bichon. They would buy a fresh piece of sod at Home Depot every week and put in on the balcony for her to potty on. She trained really quickly.
