Shannon and I communicated on this. I guess it's better this way. I just know I'd have this little guy right here had I gone to see him.
I was sooooo drawn to him! So, I just have to keep telling myself it's better this way. Right everyone??????

You are probably right. I am young and I have absolutely zero experience with abandoned and neglected dogs. I was just trying to help this guy and keep what little bit of sanity left in my home intact. I really feel horrible about passing this boy up and take your comments as constructive criticism. If anyone has any advice for me should I be put in this situation again, please let me know either through posting or pm. I'd really appreciate it.

Please accept my humble apologies.

young?

I am just trying to point out that some people take what they read on the internet to heart ---- even what you wrote about abandoned and neglected up above would maybe lead some people to think he was abandoned and or neglected (follow my logic?) which he was neither......

he was simply placed into the shelter after his human mom was admitted long term to the hospital and her 15 year old son was not in a position to take care of the dogs. he was well fed and well mannered. he was not a "poor dog" he was a dirty dog!

thats all I am trying to say is we should ALL be careful what we put in the public arena.

Heather,
I just want you to know that I was not misled by your post on the pup. I just had a hard time talking to my husband about having another dog right now.
By yesterday, I was convinced this would be a good deal for Bogart. He loves to play, and I figured this would be a geat deal for him. PLUS, both hubby and I, deep down, would love another dog!
But, with Bogart now trained for service, the new pup wouldn't have the advantages Bogie has. So, I'm happy it all worked out.

Michelle.........I'm glad you had time to spend with him. I had hubby just about convinced that we could foster him, at least. It was also super of you to take the ride down to Monroe to get him!!
All is well that ends well.
