After getting home from the trainer's and thinking about everything, I just still do not think that Chloe and I are a good fit. While it makes me sad, I know that in the end I will be much happier knowing that Chloe is with a family that better fits her. Ever since she was a puppy, I have thought that she needs a little boy or girl...she just seems like a dog that would love to be around kids. I have struggled and struggled with this for almost a year now and the table always seems to turn this direction. I am the type of person who does not like to give up on something which is why I turned to a trainer but I am now realizing that you sometimes just have to accept defeat and understand that not all things are meant to be. I do not understand why Chloe and I never could bond, but it is just something that I can no longer keep trying to force.
After reading AnnMarie's post regarding Beau, I feel a little better knowing that there are all types of situations that arise and that I am not a "bad mother" (although I feel that way at the moment). I am writing this with tears because I know how hard it will be to part with Chloe, but I also know that it is not fair to her to be with a family that isn't able to provide 100% commitment, love and happiness to her. I am going to advertise her locally through our vet's. I also have a girl at work who might be interested but if you guys know of anyone, please PM me. She will be free to a good home but I am not advertising her as free outside of this forum. Thank you all so much for your advice over the past few months! I know that Chloe's future will be filled with lots of love and happiness at a forever home.

Hi Autumn,
I feel your pain. I was in your shoes with my horse. I had bred her mom and had her for 11 years when I decided that she just wasn't going to be the trail horse I wanted. I had trainers and had been working with training methods myself. It was a very hard decision but it also was the right time. My husband got laid off and I had to go back to work full time. I took a job with a 1.5 hour commute one way and just wouldn't have had the time to care for her. She is very happy now in her new home. I know you'll find the right home for her.
