Hello everyone!
This is probably a very stupid question, but I've never bought a dog before so really don't know what to look for. What should the "papers" look like as far as the parents' health and background are concerned? Thank you in advance! |

Hi Melissa and welcome to the forum
I would make sure that you get copies of the parents health testing, especially hip scores. The more health testing that has been done on the parents, the better. It is a good idea to get pedigrees on the parents of the pup you choose. Ask for a copy of the pedigree before you buy the puppy so you can make sure that there has been no inbreeding. There has been a lot of helpful information posted on this forum on what to look for in a breeder, questions to ask, etc. I would recommend doing a search of the archives to find a lot of answers to questions that you have. Good luck
