Jac is 100% right (as I've noticed, she often is) while the low shedding of a doodle is awesome for those of us who have to clean up, its not the only indicator for allergies. Dander is an issue.

Lizzie is one of those "scruffy" (not curly) F1's, and sheds very little. My granddogs (short-haired german pointer & terrier mix) & our doberwoman shed like crazy! When I babysit, I sweep fur up all day long, but rarely find a doodle hair. It's surprising they arent all bald by now.

M&T, your pups look great, but if my math is correct the puppies are older than what we're looking for. Do you have recent pics of them? The ones up there look very young. Very cute though!

remember there are advantages sometimes to older puppies. In the past I was used to 8wk old kittens/puppies

I got Max at 13wks old and wow : no sleepless nights or sleep deprivation, less stress, and easier to train , less worries as they are a tad bigger. Now a younger pup is adorable as well but in my opinion getting a tad older dog (for the first time) was easier and believe me MAX bonded immediately.

There is a lot of truth to that. It is much easier to get an older pup and another up side to that is they have most if not all of their puppy shots. No waiting to take them places with you

I'm not against considering an older pup, but I had heard it was better to get a younger one as far as training goes. But if you know of older pups available, I'd love to see pics and get info!

Hi Melissa-

We are in Massachusetts too, and purchased our F1 Murphy in MA as well. When we first got him he had the most subtle hint of a wave (at 8 weeks) to his hair, now, at 6 months, his hair on his back is what I would call wavey, with straighter hair on his legs and head- although I think he's getting a bit of a curl as the days go by!

Murphy does shed a bit, I can't pull any hair off him, but when I wear black, I do notice a few hairs...I have terrible dog allergies and I have never had any issues on account of Murphy!

Melissa I have a f1 black wavy labradoodle...and we have severe allergies along with one person with asthma. NO problems here so far

Max started out looking like straight hair with slight wave on top., now he's wavy all over with a bit of a scruffy look which I love. In 2mos we don't have any hair except puppy fuzz when we wash him. I mean my tub is clean when we bathe him

if he loses 20 hairs a week that's alot. my chair legs catch the fuzz which takes 5; minutes a week to clean up. Also after 2mos use, max's brush looks like we bought it yesterday hahahha
