Default Shedding?

We want to buy a 7 week old labradoodle but are concerned about shedding. The breeder say she will shed her baby coat for up to 6 months and then the shedding should stop. Please let me know your experience.

Is the doodle an F1b? If so, you should have very minimal to no shedding.
An F1 may shed some, but no where near what other dogs do.

And yes........they all have to get rid of that puppy coat.

She is an F1. Do you believe she will always shed some? Our daughter has occasional asthma, but we've had dogs her whole life, a Wheaten that we had to put down in March and a 5 year old Schnoodle.

Odds are will always shed some. There are various factors however that are in your control to assist in the shedding and control thereof. Good food, suppliments, regular grooming with various implements and regular bathing can help.

Any dog will shed their puppy coat for the most part. As long as you are on top of their grooming and overall upkeep around their specified areas and around your home you should be ok. Keeping up with the air filters and carpets should help with the asthma in the household as well. Have to control that doggie dandruff to make everyone happy If all else fails, you are able to look into different carpet cleaners to help keep up on the fur.

Barney was an F1 and he always shed a little despite his wooly coat, but my asthmatic dog allergic child was not allergic to him. Good luck.

even non shedding dogs are going to shed somewhat..heck, we loose hair now and then too....it s just a healthy thing with labs..

but, the F1 s are half poodle and half the lab is bred out of the doodle..idealy your getting rid of atleast half the normal or more the shedding of a lab..

and its not so much the hair or coat people have allergies to..it s the dander, oil, saliva from the dog or pollen they bring in from outside..

can t do much about the pollen or saliva..but, thru daily grooming you can
pretty much keep clean..

Toby s a F1b, yet sheds lightly..after a brushing i ll get one small hairball..and brush and combing is something i ll do daily..then once a week ill wet my hands in some Purel, rub it into his coat.. then finish off with another wipe down with a wet towel..

this may seem like a lot of work..but, it s alot easier than cleaning up the
new born twin s..

First, what is F1 and F1b?
Second, poodle doesn't shed, right? So that means, labradoodle dog has more poodle characteristics than of a lab?
Third, is it only poodle that has strong blood line when cross breed, or there are also some dogs like that breed?
And lastly, can I breed a poodle to a japanese chin? or not since it may lead to genes confusion?
