Default Finding a breeder around Philadelphia PA

I have been doing a lot of research and would like to buy a Labradoodle but want to make sure I get a dog from a reputable breeder. If anyone has ANY info for me that would be much appreciated!!! Or if you know of any litters coming up, I would prefer to get a dog in Nov. or Dec.

Thanks so much!

FYI...(I live in West Chester PA)

Hi Eddie - Doing a lot of research is a very good start to finding a good breeder. Of course, breeders in Lancaster County have taken a 'beating' because of the puppy mill crackdown, but there are a few good ones out that way, as well as over in Delaware and north central PA as well. I highly suggest that you visit several breeders, and make sure you go with the resolve not to buy a pup on your first visit. There are very good reputable breeders on this site and perhaps they can give you a good lead as to breeders in your area. Good luck.

Thanks again for all your help Bill! I will definitely keep visiting the breeders and puppies. It does sound like there are a lot of people on here like yourself that can help point me in the right direction! I will keep searching and hoping I find the one soon

You are welcome, however, it only sounds like I know what I'm doing There are others here with a lot more experience and knowledge than I have.

Hi Eddie and WELCOME TO THE FORUM!

You know what might help?
Ask some of the different and reputable groomers in your area. Just pop in and see if they know of some. I am more than sure that they have groomed at least a few Doodles in their business.
Next, find a vet and ask them.
Both of these should have had some experiences with doodles and they should know a good one from a "shady" one.

If you get some responses, go online and search the breeder.
I liked finding a breeder who was in the business for awhile, had the pups raised with kids and may even have some champions in their lines.
For example, and I'm not sure if this website will work, but Bogart came from 2 breeders. One in Michigan, where we bought him, and another in Ohio.
Both have great websites, but only this one advertises here, so I will use him.

You can read their history......see some of their former doodles and also, just tell by their stories, testimonials etc, that you have found a good breeder.
Hope this helps.

I was just wondering if you ever found a breeder you were happy with. I'm also from WC and am also looking for a labradoodle puppy. I hope you get this message.
