I would suggest that when you pick your new pup up, ask the breeder for a toy the pup is familiar with.
Our breeder gave us a stinky 'ole kong that Bogart had played with and that was in his crate. It helps with separation anxiety and somewhat links them back to their former surroundings. Also, once you have the pup.......remember that you should never take it out of the crate when it is crying and wailing! Wait for the slightest chance of caaaaaaaalm and then open the crate, pick the pup up saying GOOD BOY/GIRL!!! Then IMMEDIATELY take the pup outside to relieve themselves. Also, remember to never use the crate for punishment. This needs to be the place they feel secure and a place they want to return to for rest and feeling of security.
