Hi there!
Welcome!! How big is your doodle? I am new too, i have just adopted my own 6 month old mini Doodle, Bailey. I am finding her to be full of surprises at the moment, one second she is running around the house like a mad woman, the next she is so loving and affectionate! I can tell you that i have never had a dog that loves human conpanionship as much as her! She has to be touching us all the time, even if its sleeping at our feet! I have only had her for 2 weeks, so she is still a little scared of new things, but she is smart, and coming along nicely! My advice to you is let her settle in, but let her know you are the pack leader straight away, or she will walk all over you! haha Because she will look at you with those cute eyes, and you will melt! haha I would love to see a pic!! Also, where are you from Chat soon. Teena & Bailey. |

I know how exciting this must be for you...and how sad you are about the kennel cough...I posted on another post about the disease...but I wanted to say that I think you should call another vet! I can't believe that a vet would tell you that you had to wait so long when you have had exposure to kennel cough! By the time you get there, your pup will either be very sick or completely well! (Hope it is the latter.)
Kennel cough is hard on small dogs like your mini-Pin...I really suggest calling your vet back and INSISTING on getting in tomorrow...or finding a vet who will take you. Let them know about the kennel cough because they will need to protect the other dogs and puppies...and kittens. Likely you will be asked to check in without the dog and then to come in a back door, to an isolated room. (If not, then I'd really worry about the safety of my dogs in that vet clinic!) Take care...try not to worry, but do get to a vet as soon as you can. Little Butterbean will be better before you know it! |
