unless you're going to get into breeding which takes considerable research, training, testing and more
Neutering your male has many benefits such as: 1. they aren't humping alot 2. they won't be marking alot on the whole 3. they won't try to be dominate with other dogs 4. it almost is like desexing them and they're much calmer in temperament with other dogs on the whole 5. WHY NOT Neuter your dog that way there isn't any mishaps with dogs in neighborhood etc 6.. Your dog is less likely to wander due to hormonal urges 7. if you type in "why neuter a dog?" into Intenet Explorer there is a wealth of info on this subject 8. the articles will also list health issues i am GLAD i have Max and peanut fixed.

neutering your dog will lessen the possibilities of testicular cancer! It will also make him calmer and the younger he is fixed (before he finds out what its all about) the less likely he is to go around marking things or trying to well you know on all the other dogs too... Its always good practice to fix your dog... Less unwanted pets that run lose is always a better thing!!

If you intend to breed your male, you should test him for potential genetic issues and that can be very expensive.
As previously mentioned, your pup will be less likely to get testicular cancer if he is neutered. Also, you will need to check with your breeder to see if you have breeding rights. Most responsible breeders require a spay/neuter contract. If you did not pay an extra amount for a breeding puppy it is likely that you did not purchase breeding rights and you could be sued by your breeder if you breed your dog. If you do want to breed him, and your breeder has no problem with breeding him, please get someone to mentor you so that the mating is done responsibly. I would be happy to help you and answer questions for you, please let me know if you want to move forward with your idea. |

Ann Marie says it all - and if what you're really looking for a great family pet with fewer issues - neuter is the way to go - as non-breeders we've never even considered leaving a pet intact - all of our pets for the last 25 years have been neutered

Definately neuter, My Denver is and my sixth month old puppy will be done in 2 months time.
No reason not to unless breeding, and once you look into all the costs for testing etc, you will need a big fat wallet........ |

Our Vet. said that most of the dogs that they see that have been hit in traffic are non-neutered males. It seems they get a whiff of something in the air and off they go following their noses with little regard to anything else that might be going on.

we got a $200 refund on Toby when we mailed in our neutering
certificate..and i believe the reason s have already been posted.. the only downside has been that many other poodle owner s wanted Toby to be the daddy..it would have been nice to get a pick of the litter.. |

leave breeding to the professionals and neuter your pets, please! I understand the idea behind wanting your pet to just have 'one litter' before you neuter; but it's not that easy and while you might multiply the price per pup X number in the litter and think it is a great way to make some extra $$, think again. I have bred dogs before, and in many cases you either break even, or you lose money after selling the pups. When my boxer had her 2nd litter, she had to have an emergency C-section. Out of a champion sired litter of 7, 3 were pure white (undesirable for the breed) and 2 were stillborn, one of the remaining died unexpectedly when a few days old, so I had multiple thousands of dollars in vet bills and the owner of the sire got the only sellable puppy. That same dog died of breast cancer when she wasn't very old, I was told that she could have been spared that if I had spayed her when she was young.
