I have to say, Todd was spot on when he told us that Beck would be perfect for us. He is just delightful, and our 8 year old Aussie just loves him. It's such a joy to see them play together. We took Kira with us to the airport to pick up Beck, then took them to a nice grassy area near the airport so they could sniff each other, put Beck back in the crate for the drive home and there has not been a problem since.

Cookie went out front (which she very seldom is allowed to do) yesterday with Dave. Our neighbor's dog (smaller than Cookie) was also out front and they played well, until....I went outside. The other dog came towards me and Cookie wasn't mean to it, but stood between us and kept wanting my attention. I ignored both of them and visited with the girl next door. Both dogs went off playing and chasing each other. So that was a mini lesson for me, guess watching all the dog shows on Animal Planet paid off I do know that Cookie is rather possessive of me, she is in whatever room I am in, always close by me. Funny, she used to do that with Dave and then switched to me. She also plays rougher with him than me, even when she was a puppy and teething. Maybe I seem "weaker" to her? Actually I make her behave and correct her, he doesn't. I will be mindfull of her need for attention, but I think she will do very well with a new one around, better now than when she was younger.
