Upon checking it out, I found ONLY back yard breeders and not reputable breeders. I am sure that some reprutable breeders list there...but I can almost guarantee that those breeders listing their pups for under $1000 on that site DO NOT test, nor do they follow the protocol of responsible breeding. Please note that this forum has long existed to educate buyers as to the dangers of this type of breeder, not to promote them. I decided to remove that link as well, since we do not promote this type of breeder. I do caution anyone looking...many times buying from these types of breeders will get you an inexpensive pup, but at what cost? If that pup gets a genetic disease, and it is more likely that they will, then you are looking at spending thousands of dollars for the care of your pet, maybe for life.
You can pay $1500-$2000 for a pup from tested parents and a 2 year health warranty (you get your money back under certain medical conditions) OR you can buy a pup for $150-700 and roll the die. But the real problem is that by buying from a back yard breeder, such as these, you are promoting the bad breeding practices that we fight so hard to eliminate.
So, sure, you can pay less...and if you are lucky, you can find a good breeder who will lower prices under certain circumstances...but if you want a healthy pup from a supportive, knowledgeable and caring breeder, you will look beyond this type of listing.
Sorry about posting the links- but, I actually found the breeders link when I was searching google for information about this alleged TSA rule about shipping puppies, they had quite a long thread on that and showed up in my search results. I didn't mean to bust into a private breeder forum, but I guess I assumed if it was private they might password protect it. Regarding the second site- that is actually how I found out about the puppy I am getting. It is sort of it's own search engine, it pulls in ads from all sorts of sources; local papers, other online sites for advertising dogs, etc. Alot of them are puppy mills, but that probably says more about the number of puppy farms out there than it does anything about the site lol

Thanks for understanding.
Yes, since the breeder's forum is not potected, it is out there and people sometimes post about puppies and they get slammed pretty hard by the members.
I went back and forth about deleting the other site, and I decided that since good, reputable breeders (longtime members of this forum) are not allowed to post puppies for sale, it was really unfair to post a link to a site that lists bad breeders (along with good ones, I am sure).
So, I think we just need to stick to the rules of not posting puppies for sale, ours or others, and of not promoting or bashing certain breeders...which includes promoting seller sites.

I am locking this post. If you have any information regarding available puppies or ideas for puppy searches, please contact this poster via PM.

Again, I want to clearly state that this forum DOES NOT promote puppy sales or placement. The good breeders, active on this site, are not allowed to post puppies for sale. Therefore, please respect them by not posting links or suggestions for other places where puppies are sold.

As always, you are welcome to communicate your information privately.

We are not eliminating the flow of information. We are, however, trying to stop the promotion of back yard breeders and puppy mills.
