Hey Guys,
i'm quite new in this forum and also in the labradoodle topic. My girlfriend and I would like to have a labradoodle because we wanted a dog for years but my girlfriend is allergic, but now we found the Labradoodle. The only problem is that we live in Austria (Tyrol) and there are no breeders in a range of about 10 hours, so the only possibility to get a Labradoodle is shipping. I have read a little bit in this forum about shipping pups and that relaxed me a little bit, because I was afraid of shipping before. But now there is the big question of finding the right breeder, does anybody know a serious breeder who ships to Europe? And is it even possible to import to Europe ? Hope to get some useful answers. Best wishes, Johannes

We have shipped to Europe before but it is a pain because of the wait. Honestly I would get a puppy from a breeder over there so you can get your dog as a pup. Most breeders who are willing to keep a puppy for quarantine to send to Europe aren't raising their pups in their home, they raise them in kennels. This being done does not provide you with a dog that is ready to become a family member. Their socialization is way behind. If you want a house dog buy a puppy that has been raised in a house. With that being said, there are several breeders in Europe who have great dogs who can get a puppy to you safely.
Good luck!

Don't we have some members from Holland on the forum....Jofi's Mom? I know you are looking for a breeder, but you might post under general discussion as readers may not check this thread and our members from Europe may be able to help you.
Or, you could do what we did and make a vacation of picking up your pup. We have relatives not far from the breeder and spent the last night there, got up early to get our pup and drove the nine hours back home. Good luck@@

Jofi's mom got both of her pups from Australia . They ship pretty frequently to Europe, and the quarantine is much less (if any) since Australia is so protected. But I do know that there are breeders in Europe. So, if you don't want your pup to fly that long, then I would start there. However, there are some australian breeders other members and breeders here can possibly PM (privately message) you about.
Some of the breeders use a professional animal shipping company to help with all of the flying... I think the person flies with the dog, aka helps with getting the dog through customs etc but the dog still travels underneath. So, please do your own research and find a breeder that you're comfortable with, and most especially comfortable with the way your precious pup's going to arrive! YOU can PM me for more info

I know my breeder ships overseas from Australia but it is fairly pricey.
The price for the dog depends on the colour and coat (fleece or wool) An example of shipping costs is to LAX $1000 AUD and to JFK $1200 AUD Our dollar had a dramatic drop just in the last few weeks, so maybe the price won't be that bad in euros. PM me if you want to know who they are. I know MUD got her dogs from a Tasmanian breeder and that breeder ships worldwide (Spain, Netherlands etc) I would check with your countries quarantine laws before having a dog shipped. You don't want them stuck in a quarantine kennel for too long. I know Jofi and Tenzin were picked up direct from the airport in the Netherlands. A dog coming from Australia is free from rabies, lymes disease etc. We only have to vaccinate for parvo, hepatitis, kennel cough and distemper. We're an island (a really whopping big island) and have very strict quarantine rules. Good luck in finding a breeder. I love my labradoodles and if you have read some of the other posts they are so smart and great with kids.

That would be so great.
I have already made some contacts to Breeders, but I would prefer to get a puppy from Europe, because I think that a long flight is not that good for a Puppy, even if all the Airlines and breeders tell the contrary. For myself I have decided, that the puppy has to be shipped with a profession pet logistic carrier, does anybody has experience in this topic ? Nevertheless, it would be great if anybody who has positive experiences with a breeder, who ships to Europe could send me a PM with the contact details. It would be really helpful if I would get some recommendations (please no self-advertising) because my girlfriend and I are not able to visit a breeder in Australia or the US. But we want a well bred puppy and not one out of the large breed batteries.

I am not much help here because I don't ship via air cargo...but I know of many breeders who do and the puppies arrive in good condition, generally. I have purchased puppies and had them shipped to me and they were great when they arrived (a little stinky, but very happy to see us!)
I agree that finding a good breeder near you is the best option. You might want to check the listings on the major Doodle organizations to see if they have breeder members near you. I really agree with Kendra about the quarrantine issue and how the pup would be "held". She is right about the puppy needing socialization, especially during this time of its life when it is learning so quickly. Best wishes in your search! |
