going home after 8 weeks.
At 6 weeks they still have so much to learn from their litter mates and their mother.

usually between 6 and 7 weeks but it is important that the litter stay together and with their mother until at least 8 weeks.

I let my dams decide when their pups are weaned. I provide them a way to get away from the pups and keep themselves from being constantly attacked or pestered by the pups in the process, but encourage them to stay with the pups the full 8 weeks. Usually by 5 -6 weeks they're weaned.
I too think it makes for much more emotionally stable pups.
