Default Looking for a Breeder in CT/RI

We are a family of five in Connecticut and two of our children have allergies to dogs. We are looking for recommendations on a reputable Labradoodle breeder in CT or RI. Does anyone have any suggestions? Also, does anyone have any experience with Luvin Labradoodles located in Milford, Connecticut?

Thanks for your help.

Hang in here......we do have members with doodles from CT!
Someone will be able to help!
Perhaps they could send you a private message and you could discuss this?

Hi Twindad,
We are "RI labradoodle" Breeders. If you would like to check on allergy problems issues you can always visit us to see if any reactions occur.
We had a family here recently where the Mom had terrible allergies that developed over time and got worse with each subsequent pregnancy she had. When she visited a puppy pet store and handled the doodles there she had had reactions, and when she visited us with her husband and 3 little girls, she played with our dogs, had them lick her hands, arms, and then played ball with them all to handle the saliva from the ball ( yuk) she was so HAPPY when she did not have any reaction.

Now she is obtaining one of our pups from Autumns Litter.

We are so happy to help anyone who may think they have an issue with their allergies.

Martha - Thanks for your response. We would be interested in visiting to see if my little guys have any allergic reactions. How can we arrange a visit?

Please be aware that visiting a puppy will not ensure you wont have allergic reaction once it gets it adult coat in
between 8-12mths old

Not having a reaction to one doodle doenst mean you wont have reaction to another

also there are environmental concerns,,,, a allergy friendly doodle in a environment with one that does shed dander will give you adverse reaction

I think the big question is what you would have to do with the puppy if you had a reaction?
are you willing to do whatever it takes to keep the pup? or would you have to rehome it??
Its not fair to any pup for the later,,,,,
it depends on where the genes fall per pup in each and every litter,,
The breeder or the pup cant control that,, No One can!

Doodles are Hybrids, we must always keep that in mind, and think about the worse scenario,, and keep the pups well being in mind

IF people who have an allergy to dogs are wondering if they would have a reaction to our labradoodle, we say to come over and visit , and touch and play ball with our dogs. Those that suffer allergies to dogs have to start their own research somewhere. If they are going to have a reaction , they will feel the symptoms within 20 mins usually with us. Most that claim to be allergic do not have reactions and are surprised. Those that purchase a dog from us, continue to not have reactions.

Based on multiple families that have visited us over the past 4 years of breeding, whom have had allergy problems and or have been tested and received results of an allergy to dogs, they will do a test by visiting us. 80% have had no reactions Many have not had reactions and continue to purchase and remain allergy free to their dog. We have had many dogs , and not one has been ever returned to us for allergy reasons.

Am I saying that Labradoodles are 100% allergy free? NO because 20% of those that have visited us have had a reaction and decide to not purchase, but how would they know if not allowed to test with labradoodles in the first place.

But we would welcome a return if the need arises. We will take back any of our pups when life altering consequences prevents any of our families to continue to care for their labradoodle. Allergies and all. No questions asked. The welfare of our pups is our main concern.

Thats great Matha,

but again, Not being allergic to a pup as a puppy,,,doesnt mean folks wont be allergic whent he adult coat comes in
and
a pup with no dander is exposed to a pups with dander then the allergens will be on that pup

Not only that,, your allowing visitors ,,exposes all pups to Parvo germs, broguht in by people

pups must go thru entire series of vaccines to be fully protected and even then its not guranteed they wont get it
Parvo can be tracked in on shoes, on clothing etc,, and this is PARVO time of year,

scary ,, unfortunately i know numerous breeders that have allowed visits, and wiped out their entire kennel,
Somthing no one would ever want to happen,,, but it does,

True Nancy, the puppy and adult coats are different. We had one family with allergies (the dad) adopt an F1b pup. They tested the entire litter, no issues, no issues with our 2 F1 adults either so we thought we were int he clear. When the puppies adult coat came in, boom, allergies for dad. We helped them rehome the pup.

That is great, Todd! I know that our breeder had the same policy.
As far dander in pups vs older doodles.........couldn't the family be exposed to both pups & adults?
When we went to get Bogart, we were surrounded by puppies and the mom and dad....and more!
It was so cool! We watched as Bogart played with his brothers, sisters, mom and dad!

I know,, especially with the Labradoodles ,,i dont know what it is,,,
I do know its complete frustration for us as breeders,
and heartbreaking for the pup and the families,,
thats why i ask the WHAT IF question before i will sell a pup to anyone

a big reason i quit breeding Labradoodles
and now only breed aussiedoodles and goldendoodles first gens

thank you Todd
